Infiniti is a luxury auto brand owned by Nissan. The company was founded in 1989 and started selling vehicles in North America. By 2010, Infiniti’s marketing network included dealers in over 50 countries. In 2020, Infiniti relocated its headquarters from Hong Kong to Yokohama, Japan, where its parent company Nissan is based.

The company focuses on North America, China, and the Middle East. Nissan’s US division sold 919,086 vehicles in 2021, up 12% compared to 2020. But Infiniti’s US sales dropped 26%. In 2021, Infiniti generated $4.1 billion in revenue versus $1.6 trillion in 2020. Small SUVs account for 34% of Infiniti’s sales. [1]

Nissan introduced the Infiniti brand to target US premium and luxury vehicle segments. Infiniti’s latest top-selling models include QX60 SUV, QX55, QX50 compact crossover, Q50 sedan, Q60 coupe, and full-sized QX80. The company added wireless Apple CarPlay to most of its 2022 lineup and updated a redesigned version of the QX60 three-row SUV.

Despite the tech upgrades, Infiniti still uses gas-only engines. In Nov 2021, Nissan announced plans to transform Infiniti into a 100% all-electric brand by 2030. The marque exited several markets in 2020, including Europe, the UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea.
